China to censor Internet during Olympics. In other news, the sky is blue.

China will censor the Internet used by foreign media during the Olympics, an organising committee official confirmed Wednesday, reversing a pledge to offer complete media freedom at the games.
“During the Olympic Games we will provide sufficient access to the Internet for reporters,” said Sun Weide, spokesman for the organising committee.
Anyone who thought China was somehow going to allow for press freedom has to be an idiot. Anyone that remembers and recognizes the significance of the Tiananmen Square Massacre knows that noone in the Chinese government was ever going to allow a free internet.
I have no problems with the Chinese. I find their government disgusting, though.
Think of it this way - I’m sure that this site will be blocked since I’ve mentioned the Tiananmen Square Massacre. I guess I’ll just have to get over it.
